It's definitely Monday
HT, my four-year-old son stayed home from preschool today. He's had an awful cold for a week now, and today he literally choked on the phlegm, leading to an unpleasant situation! I'm sure many other moms of preschoolers feel the way I do about the little ones...sometimes it's obvious when to keep the little one home, and sometimes it isn't. Today for instance...my rule is, if you vomit, you stay home. However, I knew that he didn't have the flu, it was just the phlegm, and he really didn't feel badly. But, since he had the cold and there had been vomit, home is where he stayed, which just broke his heart. He was also none too pleased that I was making him take a nap after lunch. As I put him down I gave him a hug and said, "I love you." He was still mad about the nap and replied, "Well, I don't love you." I know that he'll be over that by the time he wakes up, so I just smiled. I also know he'll feel differently when I let all three of them watch Charlie Brown's Christmas tonight, and I'm looking forward to sharing it with them!
