Robert is playing select baseball this year, and is again coached by Andrew (asst.) and Bob, our good friend. He is really enjoying it, although I'm not in love with the select mindset which is that life is all baseball, all the time. So far, they have played four games since the season started four weeks ago. I've lost tract of the number of rainouts, but all three games within the last week have been a wash. The downside is that they are going to be required by the select league to make these up which makes life very difficult to plan, but to me, the upside is that generally, most of them will be after school is out which is much better for our family.
With the exception of Robert, the rest of us were actually hoping for a rainout this evening. The kids are looking forward to hanging out as a family and watching some Cosby Show or other form of fun entertainment. Down time is coveted in this house! Even Robert acknowledges the rainout is a good thing because he has to be at his school (a 45 minute drive) at 6AM for band contest. Needless to say, it will be good that he can get to bed early this evening!
