I'm sorry for the quiet blog lately. Trust me when I tell you it has been because we are enjoying our summer!
Monday evening was a particularly fun evening. Cincinnati was hosting this year's MLB All-Star game, which also meant they were hosting the home run derby. The kids had swim practice that evening, but I stayed home. Andrew took them and picked them up, but otherwise was home with me watching. Robert was even enjoying watching it with me, and when Catherine and Thomas returned home from swim practice, we all watched together. We loved the format, and obviously were VERY excited that our hometown here, Todd Frazier, won the entire thing. We had a blast!
Even more fun was watching the celebrity & legends softball game afterwards. I loved that Aaron Boone, Paul O'Neill, Ozzie Smith, Sean Casey, and many others I've watched play the game were involved. The kids loved that they knew the celebrities, and the commentary by Snoop Dog was actually comical! I loved how much laughter came from our house that evening. Andrew and I kept commenting on how awesome it was, and how much enjoyed sharing it with the kids!
**I know that last night was the game itself, but the kids had a swim meet and I had two meetings to attend. We actually broke out a VCR tape (we don't own a DVR) and taped the pregame so that I could watch it later. I can't wait!
