Football scrimmage

Last evening JR had his first football scrimmage. Because of our trips and him missing some practices, his first day in pads had only been Tuesday. He was very emotional yesterday, and finally I sat him down and talked about it. He was in A LOT of pain from being hit. He admitted that football isn't what he had expected it to be. At that point he wasn't having a lot of fun and he felt very anxious about the scrimmage last night. We decided together that he would go alone with his dad to the scrimmage so that his "cheering section" didn't make him more nervous. I'm happy to report however, that when he arrived home he'd had a great evening. His first game is still over two weeks away, and he'll have plenty more time to practice before then!
