I spent some time in my old stomping grounds

When my dad passed away, his life insurance policy funded a donor advised fund through our town's local foundation.  My sister and I are the advisors of the fund and make the decisions.  Last week, we received a request from the middle school in my hometown, and they asked if we would come in and talk to the students.  I thought it sounded great, and I was thrilled that it fell this week when we are on break.  I decided last night that I would take Thomas with me since it is an 8th grade class.  The current middle school is in the building where I attended high school.  It was so fun to be able to walk those hallways again.  I was also so impressed with the kids with whom we got to speak.  My cousin's son is in the class, and the daughter of lifelong friends.  I took pictures of Thomas with the kids we know, and overall I just had a blast.  I'm so glad we made the trip!
