Longest. Day. Ever.

Yesterday was pretty much the longest day I've experienced. After being up at 3AM with JC, I had hoped for a nap. Unfortunately, because of her frequent vomiting incidents yesterday, there was no nap for either of us. She was able to start to doze between incidents, but I was pretty much on full alert listening for her. About 7:30 last night, her severe abdominal pain started again and my wonderful husband was off to urgent care. Once she was finally seen there they decided that she needed to go to the e/r. It was about 9:00 when I finally reached my mom, and my sister agreed to meet me and get the boys. I finally made it to the e/r around 10 and it was more crowded than I had ever seen. She finally made it into an exam room around 11, and we still didn't get seen by a doctor until after Midnight. The routine was pretty much the same as last time...as soon as she received anti-nausea meds she was a chipper little girl again, although obviously exhausted. We didn't make it home again until almost 5AM this morning. My mom had agreed to keep the boys overnight and I was awake at 9:30 so I could go get them. None of us got a very good night sleep last night, so today is our recovery day. JC had a rough morning again, but they tried sending home different meds than they ever had before and I'm happy to report that they have been tremendous. I expect her to sleep most of the day. As draining and stressful as the day was, I was still feeling so blessed. I hated seeing my little girl suffer and was so proud of her for how brave she was, but I knew that she was basically healthy, I knew that my boys were safe and cared for while I was with their sister, and I recognized that life could be so much worse. Right now we are all home and fed, and I think it's time for a nap.
