October 1 has arrived! I love this month. At least, I love what is supposed to happen this month, although it isn't happening yet! Today when I first turned on the TV at 6AM, it was 70 degrees! Now, I am fine with that being the high for the day, but that was before dawn!!!! Our highs today are to be in the lower 90's, just like yesterday, and we are to reach 90 again tomorrow. Yuck!!! This does not feel like my favorite season! Thankfully, a cold front comes through on Thursday, and on Friday we won't even reach 70 at any point during the day. Now that's what I'm talking about!
It looks a little like fall around here, but not because of the bright, vibrant colors. Sadly, because we have actually gone into drought conditions, things are simply dying and the leaves are falling off in a brown color. It's disappointing, but hopefully with some cooler temps we can still salvage a little bit of color.
I love this season, and I love this month! Seriously, last night I was so giddy about October arriving I was having trouble sleeping. I love the midwest in the fall!
