We are home from school today. We knew there was a chance, but it seemed pretty unlikely. It was supposed to begin precipitating around 4, but there was no guarantee it was going to be cold precipitation. I slept on the couch last night so that I could wake during the night to check on Catherine's temperature. At 5AM we received a text that school was on a delay. I wasn't going to complain about another two hours of sleep! Of course, that isn't actually what happened. I think I got about another 20-30 minutes. At 7, I checked Catherine's temp (no fever), woke up Andrew so he could take the dog on a walk, and hopped in the shower. I was stunned when 1/2 hour later the district decided to close. I was disappointed in losing a day of pay, but nothing can be done about it. When Andrew returned from his walk, he mentioned it was coming down as ice.
I've enjoyed sitting here on my computer looking out our big front window. Andrew had made himself some coffee and worked a little in the kitchen. I'm enjoying the peace and quiet. I'm grateful tomorrow is Friday, and we have a long weekend!
