Unexpected sad news

I was subbing at the high school this morning.  It was an extraordinarily easy morning, as I had first period off, was monitoring a small study hall 4th period, and in between our guidance counselor was introducing scheduling to the students.  I had Catherine in the second of those classes.  I was talking to her about next year's classes, when another students told me he just received a text that our school's baseball coach (also our ISA monitor and last year's basketball coach) had passed away from a heart attack.  I don't have a school email account so I really had no way to confirm the information.  Shortly after the basketball and baseball teams were called to the PAC.  There were some visibly upset students, and even more upset adults.  I only had to work this morning, and there didn't seem to be anything more that was needed of me.  It was such a sad way to begin the morning.
